Looking for interesting ways to celebrate Dad’s special day? There’s always treating him to a fancy meal, but that’s par for the course. Why not go all the way and shower your dad with love and appreciation by making it a memorable day out with fun activities for the whole family?
Here are six exciting ideas to help you plan the perfect Father’s Day.
1. Throw a karaoke party at home
For dads who prefer to spend the day relaxing at home, bring the entertainment to him! Depending on his guilty pleasure, you can rent a home karaoke system or video game consoles from HappyK. Set the stage for Dad to transform into a rockstar – complete with groupies – or indulge the child in him with friendly battles on the Nintendo Wii. You can also rent a mahjong set and invite a few of your dad’s kakis over for a more intimate celebration.

Boat charter operators like K2 Chartering and White Sails offer an exciting variety of entertainment options on board, with all equipment included, like kayaks, snorkelling gear, floating mats, fishing rods, and even a full barbecue set-up to whip up a feast. There’s even the option to have a staycation on the waters with an overnight cruise.

3. Go kayaking among mangroves
For nature-loving, adventure-seeking dads, surprise them with a guided kayaking tour along the mangrove forest of Pulau Ubin. As you meander the wetlands, you may spot some of our local wildlife, like kingfishers, hornbills, herons, monitor lizards, and even a family of otters if you’re lucky. Be sure to complete the great outdoor experience by spending time exploring the island, too.
Some beginner-friendly kayaking tours you can book include those by Adventures by Asian Detours, Kayakasia, and Kayak Fishing Fever (they use pedal kayaks).

Most tours end with a tasting session, which is a great opportunity to kick back with dad while sampling brews.
