Here’s a quick question: What do you call a hotel and yacht tour staycation? A “stayachtion”? A “vacayachtion”? A “hotelidayachtion”?
Our answer: A very good holiday idea. While you do have the option now to travel overseas, you might wish to skip the hassle of dealing with all the restrictions and limitations for taking a trip abroad. Or, you might just want to go on a brief getaway for the weekend, or have some peace of mind while spending a romantic time with your other half.
So, yes, it’s a great plan to go on a hotel staycay with your bae, one that also comes with a pleasurable yacht experience. And, there’s no need to scratch your head over where to find one or what to call it even – it is exactly what the Yacht-cation Escape packages Orchard Hotel Singapore and M Social Singapore offer.
Now that we’ve got you hooked on this “trippy” idea, let us share with you the details of each hotel’s package to see which one floats your boat better.
Yacht-cation Escape at Orchard Hotel Singapore
Waaaitaminute, hold back the sails – there’s a yacht on a big body of water, where Orchard Hotel Singapore’s at, on Orchard Road?
Nope, but you do get to go on a yacht when you sign up for the hotel’s Yacht-cation Escape package.
What happens is that, during your staycation, you will get to be chauffeured on a private limousine transfer to a luxury boat crewed by the established The Yacht Club (TYC), to enjoy a 4-hour yacht tour experience.
Imagine sipping on flutes of sparkling wine, pecking on a picnic basket of gourmet food prepared by the hotel’s culinary team and enjoying the scenic view, as you and your first mate are set drifting leisurely upon the waves. How chi-chi!
While that may be the highlight of your stay here, the hotel is also not remiss in making sure you and your plus-one are warmly received with its personalised check-in and welcome amenities.
For your dining pleasure: Specially curated set dinner and afternoon tea, plated up at the award-winning fine-dining Cantonese restaurant Hua Ting Restaurant, and gourmet breakfast served at The Orchard Café.
And, as for your chamber of repose, choose from any of these 4 – Premier Club, Premier Family, Signature Suite and Premier Suite. If you wish to pamper yourself and your other half, or have children in tow, pick the last option – the sophisticated 1,130 sq-foot Premier Suite comes with a living room, two separate entrances, a powder room and enough space to accommodate a party of 5 people comfortably.
There are two packages available: 2 days and 1 night (from $1,241++ to $1,411++ for two persons), and 3 days and 2 nights (from $1,451++ to $1,791++, for two persons), with prices set accordingly to the type of room you pick.
The Premier Suite also comes with the option of allowing for more of your family members from the same household to join at an additional $160++ per person per night.

Yacht-cation Escape at M Social Singapore
Yes, this hotel may be located at Robertson Quay, but no, you won’t boarding a yacht straight from your doorstep to sail the Singapore River. You will go on a swanky ride via limousine to The Yacht Club for your seafaring trip.
M Social Singapore’s Yacht-cation Escape packages offer equally luxurious staycations, each with their own special kind of shine.
While the 4-hour yacht tour experience is kept similar (so guests at both hotels are equally treated like royalty), at M Social Singapore, the gourmet breakfast and set dinner (that comes with wine!) is a decidedly more eclectic and lounge-y affair at its Beast & Butterflies restaurant, with the fare dished out more in the vein of modern Asian cuisine. If you are a drinks connoisseur, then cheers to you – you will also get to participate in a cocktail creation workshop by the hotel’s resident Mixologist.
As for the rooms, there are two choices: Alcove Cosy Room (it features a 4-metre-tall pitched ceiling) and Loft Premier Room (it’s a duplex). Our recommendation: Book the latter for snazzy loft living, as there’s an intimate lounge area and a desk on the ground floor, an upper mezzanine with a double bed, and allows for 1 kid to stay on its existing bedding.
The 2D/1N deal starts at $1,186++ for the Alcove Cosy Room and $1,226 ++ for the Loft Premier Room; the 3D/2N option lets you have the Alcove Cosy Room for $1,331++, and the Loft Premier Room for $1, 411++ (all prices for 2 persons).
Some more details and tips before you sign up for your preferred hotel package: Take note of the surcharges applied by each hotel for the eve of public holidays and on public holidays, and that the stay period is only till 30 Dec 2021.
Also, do make sure to check ahead with each hotel for your options, regulations and pricing details if you do intend to bring a kid (remember to check for age limitations) or other family members from the same household (including your pet furkid).
