After yet another challenging year, 2022 is finally upon us. With restrictions being eased all across Singapore and travel plans back on our horizon, things are looking extremely exciting. This January, there’s a plethora of things to dive into – from new restaurants and bar menus, to art festivals, a secret tour of Haw Par Villa, new store openings and more. Not forgetting new gym openings to hit your new year fitness goals at.

Things To Do

SAFRA Celebrates Chinese New Year

Find out what the new lunar year has in store for the 12 zodiac signs and get tips for 2022 from Feng Shui Master Lynn Yap. SAFRA members are invited to attend the live session with Master Yap at SAFRA Mount Faber on 15 Jan at 2pm, or you can also tune in to the session via the SAFRA Clubs’ Facebook pages at the same time.

Singapore Art Week

Singapore’s visual arts calendar pinnacle is back in 2022 – bigger and better than ever. This year, it takes over unconventional spots in Tanjong Pagar. Look forward to over 130 programmes across physical and digital platforms, featuring more than 35 Singapore-based projects from its open call, and offerings from close to 600 artists and creatives, curators and partners from Singapore and countries such as Bangkok, China, Australia, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the US. Keep your eyes peeled as your favourite precincts and neighbourhoods come alive with new launches and expanded programmes.

The Secret Life Of Haw Par Villa

Moleskine’s first flagship store in Singapore

Italian luxury notebooks and stationery products company Moleskine has finally launched their flagship store here! It’s located in the heart of Orchard Road at Paragon Shopping Centre, marking the first Moleskin store in Southeast Asia. The opening will also coincide with the release of several limited-edition collections in partnership with Kaweco, Pontoglio, Missoni and illustrator Lok Ng for a special 2022 Year of the Tiger edition.

The new Moleskin store takes over a 500 sq ft space on the second floor of Paragon Shopping Centre. Aside from a varied collection of Moleskine products, including journals, diaries, bags, writing accessories and digitally connected notebooks, there will be an experience table that will allow you to try the different products and use interactive customisation tools to personalise your purchases.

Singapore Airlines’ sustainability initiative with 15 retail brands

A sustainability champion who also loves travelling? This one’s for you. Singapore Airlines (SIA) is working with 15 Singapore-based retail brands to come up with a wide range of unique products made from upcycled aircraft parts and materials, which have been sourced from retired SIA passenger aircrafts. This will mark the first initiative of its kind in the world. 

Shop pouches, wallets and wristlet clutches made from life vests, from fashion label Tocco Toscano via its own online and physical outlets, as well as on KrisShop.com; or join a workshop at Supermama’s flagship store at the National Museum of Singapore to customise your own tableware using SIA serviceware, which includes aviation-inspired decals designed by Supermama. Sale of their upcycled retail collection of tableware will commence this month.

MO Bar’s new menu

Fresh off its recent accolade as #36 in World’s 50 Best Bars 2021, MO BAR at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore introduces its newest creative cocktail menu. Watch out for a completely new design approach for Volume Four, continuing the nomadic journey through the Asia Pacific seen in the first three volumes.

House of WÈI, Fairmont Singapore

This brand new modern Chinese restaurant concept at Fairmont Singapore heralds a new chapter in a space that was home to the former Szechuan Court.
