After starting your month off strong with pranks and mischief-making on April Fools, there are various other dates to look forward to this month – whether its embarking on a treasure hunt for Easter or planning a gathering over a meal with family or friends this Ramadan (fasting month).

From new pottery studios that transport you to Korea to a luggage trade-in campaign and Singapores first plant-based butcher, plus lots of events for SAFRA members, there are so many exciting things you can look forward to this April!

SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge

The SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge starts from 9 April, so get ready to start clocking your miles! Whether you choose to run, walk, cycle or blade, accumulate a minimum of 5km (for running or walking), you can get fit and do your part for beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge. As it’s a virtual event, you can participate, anytime, anywhere, outdoors or indoors.

Registration closes 25 April and you have until to 28 May to clock your distances, so get cracking!

SAFRA Punggol Family Fun Fair

Bring the kids down for some wholesome old school fun rides such as the Cartoon Train, Clown Swing and Inflatable Playland. Purchase a J’Kids Fun Card to enjoy each ride!

Appreciating NSmen Video Competition 2022

Flex your creative juices for the third edition of the Appreciating NSmen Video Competition 2022. Open to students from all secondary schools, junior colleges and tertiary institutions, the challenge is to express their creativity in conveying their heartfelt thanks to national servicemen nationwide by conceptualising and producing short videos (live-action, animation or song performance) of 60 to 90 seconds, in vertical or horizontal format. Everyones invited to participate in this meaningful competition in support of the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD) established by MINDEF.

Am I Addicted Pottery Studio and Cafe

Good with your hands? Take up pottery lessons at Am I Addicted, a pottery studio slash Korean vegetarian cafe located at the basement of Capitol Singapore. Embracing a plant-based lifestyle? Check out Singapore’s first plant-based butcher and deli located along Ann Siang Hill. The space is split into three sections: raw meats, marinated and prepared meats, condiments and dairy. You can also find different cuts of meats here, be it slivers of “brisket”, raw “meatballs”, “calamari” rings, “unagi” fillets and “beef” wellington – except, no animals were used in the process. While youre there, order up one of their mouthwatering, juicy burgers. We love the Philly Cheesesteak ($21) and the Pulled Rendang Burger ($16).

If youre looking for a cool new spot to plan break fast meals this Ramadan, look no further. (Working Title), previously at Arab Street, now has cool new digs at 51 Kampong Bugis. In the halal cafes own words, its the epitome of chill”, and you can kick back and have a meal surrounded by lush greenery, natural light flooding in, and bicycle-friendly al fresco seating. Bytes Station

Raffles Place MRT Station is now home to Bytes Station, a tech-enabled food and beverage concept. With just a few taps on your mobile phone, you get to order a gourmet coffee via a robot barista, and a grab-and-go sandwich and smoothie selection to help you power through the day.

5 On 25 at Andaz Singapore

New Cantonese restaurant 5 On 25 at Andaz Singapore has a Weekend Dim Sum Club where guests can savour an à la carte menu of over 25 varieties of handcrafted delicacies, alongside sweeping views of Singapore. Crafted by Head Chinese Chef Lim Hong Lih and his team, the menu features an array of sumptuous additions that are only available on the weekends, including Chef Lim’s Signature Deep-Fried Duck Roll ($12 for three pieces).

To elevate the dim sum experience, you also have the option to add on a suite of beverages. For an additional $78 per person, diners can sip on a free flow of Delamotte Brut N.V. Champagne, bottled beers as well as a choice of three low- and non-alcoholic organic sparkling teas, by Copenhagen Sparkling Tea Company in Denmark.
