In the blink of an eye, were in the 11th month of the year – Hello, November! And what better way to spend the last two months of the year than by going to a blockbuster exhibition at Gardens by the Bay, taking part in a fun holiday camp, and eating your way through delicious bakes, of course.  

Were not going to spoil the surprise for you, so read on to find out the best new things you can do in Singapore this November. Good times guaranteed. 

Things To Do

Lets Gift For A Reason

The season of gifting is almost upon us, but we should keep those who arent as privileged as us in mind. In celebration of SAFRAs 50th anniversary, SAFRA aims to fulfil the wishes of 500 less privileged children and fund necessities for 5,000 low-income households and elderlies through this years Lets Gift For A Reason.

Heres how you can contribute: pick a wish from the wish board located at all SAFRA clubs and purchase the gift for SAFRAs beneficiary with Adopt A Wish. Kidz Amaze 3-Day Holiday Camps

Let your kids run free this school holidays at the Kidz Amaze indoor playground, which will host 3-day camps at three locations: SAFRA Jurong, SAFRA Toa Payoh and SAFRA Punggol. Let them try their hand at different activities like rock climbing, longkang fishing, gymnastics, robotics and coding, and even a farm tour!

This will be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for them, so dont miss out. Camp fees are $280 for Kidz Amaze and SAFRA members and $330 for guests. Places are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis, so do register soon! For registration and more info, visit safra.sg/KAPromo.

Avatar: The Experience 

If youre like us, youve probably secretly associated Gardens by the Bay with the 2009 movie Avatar – thanks to its futuristic architecture and towering trees. Well, your imaginations coming to life because an Avatar-themed exhibition has debuted at Gardens by the Bay. 

Your Avatar dreams have now manifested into reality at the Cloud Forest, with its waterfalls, spiralling walkways and unique architectural glass greenhouse. Ahead of the movie sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water coming out in December this year, relive the fictional world of Pandora, with its bioluminescent environments, mystical creatures, flora, and the captivating culture of its indigenous people, the Navi.

Singapore Biennale

Culture vultures, the Singapore Biennale is back after a 3-year hiatus. From now till 19 March 2023, discover art at gallery spaces like the Singapore Art Museum at Keppel Distripark; to ordinary spaces like International Plaza, where a Library of Unread Books has popped up; to Yan Kit Playfield and offshore islands like Lazarus. 

Those who love the visual aspects of art can check out The Viscous Sea, an immersive audio-visual installation that explores the effects of climate change and our relationship with nature. Nature lovers, on the other hand, should check out Moving Earth, Crossing Water, Eating Soil at St Johns Island. 

Exhibitions at Tanjong Pagar Distripark are ticketed, at $15 for adults and $10 for NSFs or seniors. Meanwhile, theres free admission to other programmes, installations, and other artworks in other locations.

Foodies, BE@SAFRA is returning this year with the ultimate food fiesta! Delight your taste buds with an array of mouth-watering food stalls at SAFRA clubs (it’s free for SAFRA members!) and embark on the Families For Life Food Hunt to win a $10 e-voucher. You can also do your part to contribute to a zero-waste community by donating your excess non-perishable food items via the Food Bank booth at the SAFRA clubs.

Brotherbird Bakehouse’s new outlet at Raffles Place

Youve probably heard of Brotherbird Bakehouse, the viral croissant bakery that has been serving up fresh pastries in Lavender and Haji Lane. But CBD peeps can now rejoice, because its opening up its third outlet at CIMB Plaza in Raffles Place. 

Expect 14 different bakes daily, with flavours changing on a regular basis. Whether youre chomping down a Mochi Croissant or their Ham & Cheese Twiced Baked, theres something for different tastebuds. Its cheaper than flying to France to satisfy your cravings, too, with croissants starting at $5.50.

Beigelhaus

For some, bagels are a way of life; however, for Muslim bagel lovers, finding the perfect bagel which is halal-certified may not come easy. Beigelhaus, a new Muslim-owned bagel cafe located along Robinson Road, is here to save the day.

Here, you can take your pick from a decadent selection of bagels and wraps. Order up the Pink Loxy, which is filled with cured salmon, cream cheese, red onions, capers, confit tomatoes and apple and fennel salad, or go plant-based with vegetarian options such as The Fake-R. The latter is stuffed with truffle mushrooms, kombu butter, pickled red cabbage and plant-based meat. Not too hungry? There are affordable options below $6, slathered with all your favourite spreads.
