]]>Another fortnight, another period of staying safe and staying in with no dining in. No problem; you can still take a stroll in the park, head out to buy takeaway or pop over to your cuz’s (friend or family) house just to grab some fresh air, and oh, you know, show off some fresh new sneaks, like these ones here. Pick from an eye-popping multi-coloured luxury shoe, some old-school kicks or 3 beige-y ones, for your brief “runway showing” outside.
“The No-Hype Sneakers Selection” is our fortnightly curation of the not-so-hot but oh-so-cool shoes that you might have missed out on.
Tennis 1977 webbing-trimmed logo-jacquard canvas sneakers, $1 003 (£536.50), Gucci
If you a) really miss shopping and wanna splurge out; b) have lots of extra moolah to spare; and c) wish to step out in true stunner-style, then this is your It shoe. These reissued “Tennis 1977” sneaks look old-school, but is elevated by the bold green, red, yellow, pink, orange and blue monogrammed canvas panels, and the ever-essential Gucci striped webbing to become your bold statement shoe of the month. Dine and shine on the 21st of June (fingers crossed) in these.
Available at Mr Porter
Nizza Hi RF (in white & olive), $125, adidas
Take to the courts or the streets with these old-school basketball kicks – it’s an absolute headturner thanks to the intricately-detailed floral patterned canvas that calls to mind vintage upholstery and wallpaper fabrics. The olive green, blue and purple coloured shoes look gorge enough for your gf/wife to steal, so best make this your new couple going-out shoes to avoid any tiffs.
Available at END.
Air Huarache (in white/bright mango/black/purple), $199, Nike
Yet another retro-style pair in this list (yes, we admit, we do have a soft-spot for such shoes), this one’s a baby of the early 1990s. 1991 to be exact; it was made by Tinker Hatfield as a performance shoe to hug the foot. And, boy do we need some kind of hugging in these socially-distant times. Make do with these Air Huaraches that are made of synthetic breathable, neoprene-like fabric, with a bootie-like construction, comfy collars and signature heel clips to feel the love instead. The vibrant purple and orange give it an extra cheery 90s’ colour kick, or if you rather go down the classic route, there’s also a black and white version available, too.
Available at Nike stores and brand stockists, multiple locations, www.nike.com/sg
BONUS: SAFRA members can enjoy up to 15% off regular-priced footwear & apparels at Nike. Visit NIKE | SAFRA for more information.
X-Racer leather trainers (in taupe-brown), $200 (USD $151), New Balance
While all the hipsters and hypebeasts out there are going cray over the brand’s other spotlight-hogging models (such as the 327s and 990s), there’s this one that’s been overlooked, possibly because of its awkward blend of the progressive and trendy (think Travis Scott’s Nike Air Jordans) with a rugged design that’s more typical of hiker boots. So, while it has the chunky ABZORB midsole with a grippy outsole and thick laces, it also sports two cargo pockets, a side zip and grained leather panels for each shoe. It’s an outlier for sure, but then, why play safe when you’ve got choices? Wear this and it will be tomorrow when the others play catch-up to you.
Available at MatchesFashion
Knitted runner trainers (in lilac), $51.99, ASOS DESIGN
If you prefer something more affordable and not so “brand-focused”, then these low-key pretty ones from ASOS might fit the bill. While it may look like an “inspired by” hybrid of the big sneaker brands’ popular models, its frills- and label-free design done up in a singular lilac colour makes it look chic enough to stand on its own, with the by-now regular features of a knitted upper, sock-cuff and modular-looking midsole making it a perfectly functional piece of footwear, too.
Available at ASOS
Panelled trainers (in beige), $500 (USD $377), Acne Studios
A 1990s silhouette that’s fast-forwarded to the 2020s, that’s what this sleek winner is. The off-white faux suede and the semi-translucent ripstop are cool-as-f material upgrades, with the curvilinear design accents on the sides adding visual interest while refining its streamlined, sporty look.
Available at MatchesFashion
Type O-9 sneaker (in white tint), $415, adidas Originals x OAMC
While the sneaker world is being run over by more and more collaborations that succeed partly based on hype and starry-names, the one between adidas and fashion brand OAMC has been going on for a few years now, and growing from strength to strength while staying under the radar. This futuristic take on adidas’ early-’00s “Microbounce” technology (very on-point, with midsole and outsole design getting more and more out-there currently), is a handsome and modern looker (available in Asphalt-gray, Earth-brown and Natural-white as seen here) that’s made of hairy beige suede panels, TPU panelling that’s sculpted around the heels and across the sides, and of course, the cylindrical Microbounce pods fitted underneath.

]]>The post Fash News Flash: Bum Bags Aren’t Just Made For Bumming Around appeared first on eNSMAN.
]]>Waist bags, belt bags, fanny packs, bum bags – these bags of many names were once derided as fashion mistakes of the 80s and 90s. But, like all style transgressions of the past, we so love to repeat them, and so, here they are once again, back to adorn our hips and some of our behinds. But, don’t worry – they have been updated and upgraded to look way more modern and stylish, such as these ones here. Oh, and pro tip: You should strap them across your body and shoulder so as to look voguish, not fogey-ish.
Fake/Not GG Supreme belt bag, $1,490 (USD $1,118), Gucci
Want to appear more subversive than just a man strutting around town with a bum bag? Then tote a luxury brand one that’s printed with a bold, yellow “FAKE” in uppercase on top of a monogrammed print on the front. The inside joke: it’s got the word “NOT” printed on the back. In any case, no one’s gonna doubt the GG Supreme house coated canvas, iconic red and green stripe, and brown leather logo patch as anything else other than authentic Gucci.
Available at MatchesFashion
Workman belt bag, $29, Dickies
Into the whole utility-workwear aesthetic? Here’s an accessory to help complete your look. Simple yet functional, this brown bag’s made of poly ripstop (so it’s durable) and comes with just one single zip compartment (cos’ that’s all a working man needs).
Available at Urban Outfitters
Webbing-trimmed Intrecciato rubber belt bag, $1,016 (£552.84), Bottega Veneta
This is how you do military-utilitarian, but make it fashion. It’s dark green, it’s gorge, it’s got laser-engraved rubber elements that nod toward Bottega Veneta’s signature leather-weaving intrecciato pattern. Save and splurge on this good-sized carrier that comes with a two-way zip fastening and silver-tone hardware.

Available at ASOS
Technical-pleated belt bag, $390 (USD $292), Homme Plissé Issey Miyake
Stand out amongst all the other bum bag “bums” with this vibrant orange, fashionable and functional accessory. Made out of the Japanese brand’s technical-pleated fabric that conforms to the shape of whatever is being held within, it’s kept steady with a black webbing strap, with the slender bag being able to retain its pleated texture even when after all the stuff’s been removed. As long as you don’t try and stretch it beyond its carrying capacity, that is.
Available at MatchesFashion
Hydro Jam belt bag, $51, Chums
Going on a hike or wandering a green trail in SG? Pack all your essentials in this one. Why it’s perfect: it’s got an adjustable strap, a phone sleeve with touch-screen functionality, an earphone port, water bottle holder and a stash pocket for your cash, cards and other stuff. Leather-trimmed printed monogrammed coated-canvas belt bag, $1,383 (£752.21), Gucci + Doraemon
Another Gucci monogrammed item? But, how can we not, since it’s got everyone’s fave blue cat robot Doraemon printed all over it? If that isn’t enough reason why you should get this, then maybe the luxury details – the claret leather, and Gucci’s signature coated canvas and striped webbing strap – will convince you. Keep away from cutesy-loving kids and your other half if you want this all to yourself.
Available at Mr Porter

]]>The post Everyday Tee-Time Vol. 1 appeared first on eNSMAN.
]]>Age ain’t nothing but a number; so if you wanna slip on a tee with a cartoon character on it, then wear it like you own it. Here are 10 to don on to be your fun, young and casual self.
“Everyday Tee-Time” is our regular fortnightly round-up of the best new T-shirts that fit you, well, to a tee.
Blanka triple triangle T-shirt in black, $78.74, HUF x Street Fighter II
Okay, so Street Fighter is more a video game franchise than a cartoon but, for those who are old enough to know, there was a 26-episode Street Fighter: The Animated Series made all the way back in 1995. So, this here crew-neck, qualifies to be on the list. Prominently featured on the back of this black tee, is the gamer’s fave green monster (move over Hulk) Blanka in his Street Fighter II pixellated guise, performing his fiercest ah beng squat and discharging his trademark blast to electrify the HUF brand name.
Available at ASOS
Tie-dye Rick & Morty T-shirt, $39.90, Bershka
Fans who love the crazed Adult Swim animated series that is Rick and Morty deserve an equally crazy tee: A vibrant violet tie-dyed top showcasing the double-trouble duo on one of their out-there adventures.
Available at Bershka stores, multiple locations, www.bershka.com/sg
Black “Spaced out” T-shirt, $39.90, Pull&Bear
A 90s’ kid? Here are all of your fave Nickolodean cartoons back then, on one tee. Who’s here – Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, and the rest, we leave you to figure out (or Google, if you aren’t a 90s’ cartoon fan).
Available at Pull&Bear stores, multiple locations, www.pullandbear.com/sg
Rex Tee, $55, Disney X Adidas Originals
Underdog and B-characters need some love and support, too – like Rex from Toy Story. The loveable toy tyranno is the main star of this 100% organic cotton Stan Smith tee, that’s kept modern with a minimal design so adults won’t feel too kiddy wearing this. Extra brownie points for adidas and Disney too, for making this a gender neutral piece.
Available at Adidas Originals brand stores and stockists, multiple locations, www.adidas.com.sg
ASOS Design X Disney T-shirt with Mickey Mouse sketch in white, $40.76, ASOS
When there are tonnes of merch featuring an ultra-popular character, what should you do? Keep it simple – go for this white tee, that clears out all that graphic “noise” with just a large, black & white illustration of Disney’s iconic mouse. So clean, so easy to wear.
Available at ASOS
Striped Snoopy Peanuts T-shirt, $49.90, ZARA
A striped tee is a classic staple for casual weekend dates. A round-neck, loose-fitting one’s even comfier and better. One adorned with Snoopy chillaxing with Woodstock on his red kennel? Perfect.
Available at ZARA stores, multiple locations, www.zara.com/sg
Anamaniacs Yakko Wakko tee, $49, Urban Outfitters
ICYMI, Anamaniacs just got a new revival on Hulu. While you may have not gotten a chance to catch the wild, new antics of the Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko and Dot, you can wear these characters proudly on your bod. Talk about attention to detail: the illustrations are deliberately printed with cracks, to mimic an old, worn-out, retro tee, so that when you wear this, you can boast that you were already an OG fan since 1993 (the debut of the original series).
Available at Urban Outfitters
The Smurfs tie-dye tee, $49, Urban Outfitters
Need a “positive vibes” tee for Sundays? Here’s a blue tie-dyed one featuring a very ebullient, dancing little blue Smurf (we couldn’t exactly identify who – Jokey Smurf perhaps?) with “The Smurfs” printed in bright, bold yellow above the happy fella. Simply Smurfy!
Available at Urban Outfitters
Tbar collab movie and TV T-shirt – The Simpsons Homer Mumu, $29.99, Cotton:On
Cotton:On’s a popular go-to for affordable tees. Here’s one we like: Homer Simpson being a progressive fashionisto, modelling a summery floral muumuu (it’s a loose dress of Hawaiian origin, FYI) and subverting common sartorial conventions by topping it off with a newsboy cap and some casual sneaks. The less adventurous ones amongst us can only carry off this black tee.
Available at Cotton:On stores, multiple locations, cottonon.com/SG
Printed cotton-jersey T-shirt, $819 (£445), Gucci + Disney
Want to stay a cut above the rest, even while wearing a cartoon tee? Get this black one from Italian luxury brand Gucci. It’s done up a little slouchy and in a classic vintage look, with a print of Donald Duck being caught off-guard by the paparazzi. You, too, can pretend to be a celeb, wearing a tee so expensive, but do so with less surprise and more-at-ease, ya?
Available at Mr Porter

]]>The post Wallets That Show The World What You’ve Got appeared first on eNSMAN.
]]>Now that you may be heading into office or socialising on weeknights and weekends much more, you will definitely be flashing more. Of your wallet, that is. Unlike when you were back at home where it’s fine to have your currency strewn all over your desk-cum-dining table, or stuffed here and there (such as in your sweatpants and shorts), you can less afford to be so blasé about your assets when you are out in public. Time to do a re-org of what’s in your pocket, and since you are at it, might as well purchase a nice, new wallet – like the fancy ones here – to make sure everything’s easily found in its right place.
Leather Wallet In Tan With All Over Bears, $203.99, Polo Ralph Lauren
Here’s how to add a little whimsy to the traditional billfold-style wallet – add some bears. Printed illustrations of Polo Ralph Lauren’s iconic bear mascot, dressed in varied collegiate-style clothes, to be exact. It shows that you’ve grown-up (because it’s classic-looking and made of brown leather) yet reveals that you’ve got a fun side, too (’cos of the cute bear prints).
Available at ASOS
TB-Monogram Coated-Canvas Bi-Fold Wallet, $445 (USD $330), Burberry
Not afraid of a maximalist monogram pattern? Try Burberry’s bifold one, then. The bold TB monogram is a design based on the British brand founder Thomas Burberry’s initials, and is printed all over the front and back of this brown coated-canvas money holder that has two canvas-lined note compartments, two slip pockets and eight card slots.
Available at MatchesFashion
Printed Leather Billfold Wallet, $740 (£401.25), Mastermind World
A tough guy with a past (or, at least you want to adopt the facade of one), eh? This will help lend more effect to your guise, we mean, your character. It’s got the Japanese label’s skull emblem printed on the front, engraved silver stud snap fastenings and a detachable chain (for that punk-slash-biker aesthetic). Oh, and it’s made of black cow leather and has a slip pocket, coin pocket, internal card slot and a bill sleeve (hey, practical details still matter for tough guys).
Available at Mr Porter
Logo-Embossed Leather Bifold Wallet, $660 (USD $492), Gucci
Say, you want a classic-style wallet with some kind of pattern or print that still spells “luxury brand” without appearing ostentatious. Well, here’s what to put your money on. It’s by Italian luxury house Gucci (so it’s of quality-make and branded); is made of black perforated leather (so it’s chic and textured); and features numerous card slots (12) and an embossed GG motif print (so everyone knows you’re all Gucci).
Available at MatchesFashion
Bandana Canvas Billfold Wallet, $215 (£116.67), Neighborhood + Porter-Yoshida & Co
Prefer something less serious, and more casual? This billfold piece will give you all the street cred you want. A collab between lauded street-style Japanese brands, Neighborhood and Porter-Yoshida & Co, it’s made from black printed canvas inset with a bandana motif and comes with Velcro fastening. What makes this even cooler is that it’s been treated with bleach, to create that used, vintage, faded effect.
Available at Mr Porter
Crinkled Zip-Around Wallet, $430 (USD $321), Maison Margiela
No, this wallet is not wrapped in aluminum or tin, but is made of a silver-coloured coated canvas on the outside and black leather on the inside. What elevates this to an avant-garde piece is the crinkled material – it’s on purpose, as expected from the experimental brand. On a more pragmatic note, the zip helps keep everything safely kept away.
Available at MatchesFashion
Nylon Trifold Wallet, $384 (USD $286), Sacai X Porter
Here’s another casual piece from a tie-up between two Japanese brands, Sacai and Porter. This khaki nylon product’s made in Japan, and comes with a Velcro closure, coin pocket and four card slots. Coupled with an adjustable 37-cm-long strap (so you can hang this off you without fear of losing it), this is a compact and handy companion for days when you are rushing out and about.
Available at HBX
Intrecciato-Embossed Leather Billfold Wallet (In Lawn Green), $549 (£298.71), Bottega Veneta
The Italian brand’s signature intrecciato weave (it’s a technique for weaving leather) is cleverly reinterpreted as an embossed pattern for this wallet that comes with eight card slots, two receipt pockets and two bill sleeves. What makes this an even more standout piece – the bright green calf leather (it comes in black, too, for those less inclined to such vibrancy). It’s probably the exact shade of envy when your mates see you whip this statement-maker out.
