This June, make time for BE@SAFRA, a series of SAFRA club open houses designed to engage NSmen and their families. This year’s BE@SAFRA is Total Defence-themed, in commemoration of 40 years of Total Defence. Throughout the event across the 7 SAFRA clubs, members and non-members get to discover more about SAFRA club facilities and offerings, and learn more about the six pillars of Total Defence, namely, Military Defence, Economic Defence, Digital Defence, Civil Defence, Social Defence, and Psychological Defence.
The series will culminate at SAFRA Choa Chu Kang on 30 June, with a full-day event made up of fun-filled activities and giveaways to bring NSmen and their families closer together, and to thank NSmen for their contributions to national defence.
Some of these activities include a life-sized Total Defence board game, “TD Ready!”, where you can simulate defending the nation against various threats while learning about the six pillars of Total Defence. Form a team of 6 players with your friends and family and register to play the game. You stand to win up to $300 worth of prizes!
Also look out for free aqua fitness workouts, like Aqua Aerobics and Floatfit (registration is required); a special Total Defence 40 exhibition; and a Total Defence Vehicle Showcase, where you can pose alongside sleek patrol cars and resilient emergency response vehicles.

There will also be a membership promotion during BE@SAFRA, with special prices for Principal and Dependent membership sign-ups and renewals. Plus, you can receive free gifts when you sign up at the membership roadshows at SAFRA Jurong (15 June), SAFRA Punggol (22 June) and SAFRA Choa Chu Kang (30 June).
Additionally, there are member-exclusive contests to join (held between 15 and 30 June) and eco-friendly premiums, such as a customisable bamboo stylus pen, bamboo notebook and cotton pouch, to redeem when you take part in the activities.

1. Families for Life Scavenger Hunt
Discover SAFRA club facilities and stand to win $50 SAFRA Rewards Vouchers. Simply look for 6 BE@SAFRA event logos around each club and submit your entries via a webform (access the webform via the QR code onsite). The correct entry will stand to win $50 SAFRA Rewards Vouchers (15 winners per club), which can be used at over 2,000 outlets islandwide. 2. Munch on carnival snacks
Enjoy free traditional drinks and biscuits, ice cream, kacang puteh and more at the various food booths (items at each club may vary). And be sure to visit the Old Chang Kee food truck at SAFRA Choa Chu Kang on 30 June for a free Curry’O, for SAFRA members only.

3. Play carnival games
Put your skills to the test at game booths featuring Coin Toss, Batak Wall and Giant Jenga, with each game representing a Total Defence pillar. There will also be a shooting game booth, a first-aid packing game booth, digital quizzes and crossword puzzles.

4. Duty Defender (Foam Dart Challenge)
Take part in Duty Defender to test your teamwork and defence skills while strengthening your bond with your teammates. Pre-registration is required.

5. Inflatable Obstacle Course
Test your agility, strength and adaptability and embrace the adventure at an inflatable obstacle course! Participants have to make their way over hurdles, navigate slippery slides and floating stones, and experience thrilling drops into the pool.

6. Singapore Red Cross Demonstration Booth
First aid is a key component of Civil Defence. Learn basic first-aid skills through a live demonstration and hands-on activities by the Singapore Red Cross.

7. Ambulance Discovery
Ever wondered what goes on inside an ambulance? Find out more about the life-saving procedures and other emergency medical services at this static ambulance display, which highlights the importance of emergency response efforts.

8. Food Security Educational Workshops
Held in partnership with City Sprouts, these workshops will show you how to grow your own micro-greens, or how to compost with worms. Pre-registration is required.
