Whether you’re spending the day outdoors with family at nearby Toa Payoh Town Park or taking the children to Kidz Amaze, one of Singapore’s largest indoor playgrounds, there’s a wide variety of dining options at SAFRA Toa Payoh to pick from when it’s time to top up the tummy tanks.

Astons Specialities

Homegrown casual steakhouse Astons Specialities is a local stalwart known for its pocket-friendly old-school style Western cuisine. You can’t go wrong with a juicy steak charbroiled to your preferred doneness or chargrilled chicken chop in a myriad of seasonings and gravies from Hickory BBQ to Lemon Lime.

Mains come with your choice of hot and cold side dishes – picking which two to complete your meal is probably the only tough part of the experience. Other popular choices include Surf and Turf, a range of pastas, and the towering ieat Super Burger that’s a must-try for fans of crispy onion fritters.

Note: Astons will be closed from 10 Oct to 8 Nov for renovations, and will be reopening as “ANDES by Astons” from 9 Nov onwards. ANDES by Astons is Halal-certified and MUIS-accredited, and will serve up scrumptious and affordable Western cuisine.

AXSolute Bistro

If you’ve never gone bowling at SAFRA Toa Payoh, you may be missing out on a yummy little secret. Tucked within Superbowl is AXSolute Bistro, which serves Italian fusion cuisine at very affordable prices.

Now you’d think that a bistro in a bowling alley is only good for finger foods like chicken wings and cheese fries. But that’s not all that’s available. They also serve a mean Pan Seared Rib Eye Steak, Barramundi Fish & Chips and Vongole Clams Spaghetti, among others. Take advantage of the ongoing one-for-one promotion – choose two mains for $16.80 or two pizzas for $20.80. You’ll also enjoy happy hour promotions all day long. By the way, their creative chef has just launched a limited-edition Chilli Crab MAGGI dish – try it before it’s gone!

HaveFun Karaoke

Sadly, karaoke is currently not on the menu at HaveFun Karaoke, but that doesn’t mean the fun’s over. The snazzy décor and lighting make for a great hangout spot with friends and family over Western and Asian food and drinks. You can even book a private room and watch a movie while exercising your taste buds… instead of your vocal cords!

We recommend starting with a platter of Lok-Lok – skewers inspired by the Malaysian street food. Think everything from succulent meats and delectable seafood to mushrooms and baby corn served on sticks, ready to be dipped into a selection of sauces. With every platter ordered, enjoy $2 off non-alcoholic drinks or mains such as Chicken/Beef Bolognese and Chicken Chop.

Jubilee Garden

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or having a casual family meal, the Chinese cuisine at Jubilee Garden is ideal for multi-generational families. Signature dishes include Herbal Roasted Duck and Poached Prawn with Herbs and Cordyceps. They also make a mean rendition of the rather hard-to-find Hakka delight, Stir-fried Yam Abacus Seed.

You’ll find these dishes in the all-you-can-eat a la carte lunch and dinner buffets. Prices are really reasonable, and includes complimentary Pearly Soya Milk for each diner. On your birthday month, you even dine for free with a minimum of four adults. The menu boasts almost 40 items ranging from appetisers to desserts. Don’t miss the Chef Specials such as Mini Buddha Jump Over The Wall and Black Pepper Crab, which are limited to one serving per table.
