After a short hiatus, the SAFRA Membership Grand Draw returned with its 2022 edition, which boasted prizes worth $50,000 that included grocery vouchers, electronic appliances, and the grand prize of a 2-night stay at Equarius Hotel’s Ocean Suite in Sentosa and Frasers Gift Card (total worth $10,000).
Every SAFRA member with a valid membership (above 18 years old) will be automatically accorded a chance in the Grand Draw. Additional chances are given to those with unredeemed SAFRA points and those who sign up or renew for a 5 or 10 years membership.
A total of 50 prizes were awarded to 50 lucky SAFRA members, with the top 3 winners attending the prize presentation ceremony held at SAFRA Toa Payoh on 18 March.
The winner of the Grand Prize is 20 year-old Mohammed Syameer, a current full-time National Serviceman who has been a SAFRA member since November 2022 (just five months!). We ask Syameer about how he felt about winning and his plans on celebrating the win.
Q: A big CONGRATULATIONS on winning the SAFRA Grand Draw! Can you describe to us how you felt after finding out you had won the grand prize?
Honestly, it is unbelievable! I didn’t know about this lucky draw until my parents told me about my win after I came home from camp.
Q: Who will you be bringing along to the 2-night stay at the Equarius Ocean Suite?
I will be bringing my parents for the 2-night stay at the Equairus Ocean Suite and treating them with the gift card too.
Q: What do you think of the prizes in the SAFRA Grand Draw? Have you heard of the Equarius Hotel prior to winning? And have you visited the S.E.A Aquarium at Sentosa before?
I didn’t know about the other prizes in the Grand Draw. I have heard about the Equarius Hotel before, but I’ve never stayed at it before. Yes, I’ve visited the S.E.A Aquarium previously.
Q: How do you intend to spend the additional $5000 Fraser Gift Card?
I intend to spend the money on my family. (The father: We’ve already discussed and have plans to go on a shopping spree after the prize presentation) For myself, I think I will buy a new pair of shoes.
Q: What made you decide to sign up for a SAFRA membership and how have you found the SAFRA membership privileges so far?
I decided to sign up for a 5-year SAFRA membership due to the benefits I can get. For example, I’ll be able to get discounts on activities like bowling at SAFRA clubhouses.
Q: Which SAFRA club do you visit most often? Any recommended facilities/amenities/activities at SAFRA?
I often visit SAFRA Tampines club and frequent the bowling alley there.
Q: What are some of the SAFRA promotions and deals have you enjoyed or am aware of?
As a new SAFRA member, I received a new watch and have been enjoying benefits such as discounts on activities like bowling.
