7 Things You Can Do Or See In Singapore This June Holidays 2024

The city-state has plenty to offer when it comes to hidden gems and well-known locales.

By Amanda Tan        14 June 2024

The June school holidays are still in full swing, and maybe you’ve already returned home from the family vacation. Not to worry – there’re still lots of fun and fulfilling activities to do around our little island for the remainder of the school break, that don’t require a lot of planning. Whether you’re looking to embark on an adventure outdoors (go on a road trip), or immerse yourself in more relaxing settings indoors (book a spontaneous staycation), there’s something for everyone in the family – and discounts for SAFRA members too.

1. Learn about army life

Whether you’re still serving actively or not, take this chance to learn more about the Singapore army and bond with your child at BMT (which really stands for Bring Me To) @ Singapore Discovery Centre while you’re at it. From now till the end of June, save the dates for a bevy of fun programmes that allow your children to learn more about the nation’s defence force, including the kids uniform photo op, the survival obstacle course and foam blaster challenge (own time, own target, fire!).

Visit BMT@SDC – Singapore Discovery Centre for more details on the programme.

SAFRA members get 10% off escape room, laser tag, paintball, archery tag and more here. Go to safra.sg/promotions/sdc for more details.

2. Staycation at D’Resort

Staycation at D’Resort

If you’re looking to create new and core memories with your children, D’Resort, Singapore’s first-nature inspired family resort, checks all the right boxes. Located at Downtown East at Pasir Ris Close, the all-inclusive resort comes with an integrated water park experience, Wild Wild Wet, for those looking to make a happy splash. But if you prefer simply spending time with everyone indoors, the resort’s spacious and well-appointed rooms are perfect for quiet evenings in.

SAFRA members enjoy exclusive rates for D’Resort’s Beach Cove rooms. Go to safra.sg/lifestyle/d’resort for more details.

3. A splashing good time at Wild Wild Wet’s Marine Marvels – Guardian of the Sea Species

Wild Wild Wet’s Marine Marvels – Guardian of the Sea Species

Dive into and explore a whole new world at Wild Wild Wet’s Marine Marvels – Guardian of the Sea Species. Navigate through Singapore’s longest inflatable obstacle course as you explore a “crafted ecosystem” that’s inspired by the “sensitivity of marine life”. There are also carnival booths, interactive activities such as endangered species storytelling and fish feeding. The event takes place from now till 28 July.

SAFRA members get 20% off. Go to safra.sg/promotions/wild-wild-wet-marine-marvels for details.

4. Take a road trip

Take a road trip with the family

Even if you don’t have a destination in mind, a road trip around the island is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your children. Having a car opens up so many possibilities to doing that, including heading to places that are not easily accessible by public transport, such as the Rail Corridor and the farms in Lim Chu Kang.

SAFRA members get to enjoy $15 off their first drive and 10% off subsequent time charges with car sharing platform GetGo. Go to safra.sg/promotions/getgo-SAFday for more details.

Need a place to refuel during your road trip? Check out these family-friendly eateries around the island.

5. Go bowling

Go bowling

Bowling is always a great family-friendly activity, whether you’re a novice or an expert, and everyone can take part in a game or two! Sonic Bowl also has arcade games and claw machines for the family members who are looking for more things to do.

SAFRA members get a special rate of three games and a pair of shoes for $12 instead of $14 at Sonic Bowl. Go to safra.sg/promotions/safra-sonicbowl-julypromo for more details.

6. Get creative

Get creative

If your child has a talent for the arts, encourage his or her artistic pursuits at Artary, a children’s art studio. Here, art programmes are designed for children aged three to 14 years old, where they get to experience art through a variety of mediums including song, cartoons and play groups.

Artary is at SAFRA Punggol. Go to safra.sg/promotions/artary-june-hol-workshop-safra-punggol for more details.

7. Explore Jewel

Explore Jewel

Looking for a cool respite amid the rising temperatures? Head to Jewel at Changi Airport, where aside from shopping and dining, there are plenty of corners to explore and things to do. We know adults and children alike will enjoy walking along the Mastercard canopy bridge, the bouncing net, mirror maze, as well as taking in the sights and sounds of nature at the spacious indoor garden.
