KL Hokkien Mee, also known as Char Mee, is very different from Singapore’s Hokkien Mee.

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur (KL), the PappaRich chain offers a more inviting restaurant environment for one to tuck into the many famous KL street foods. Recently, they have announced a new menu at the Waterway Point and Parkway Parade outlets.

Hainan Bread, steamed, not toasted! Staying true to a 70-year recipe, the bread stays soft and fluffy even after steaming. Next up would be the flourless fried chicken, as part of their Nasi Lemak dish. Using a new recipe from the original maker, it is said that the original recipe owner has joined PappaRich to help with the chicken’s marination process.

Assam Fish Head is a new item as well. It is slightly sour, a little sweet, and popular among families as a sharing dish. Finally, the evergreen KL Hokkien Mee, featuring noodles braised in chicken stock for an even coating of thick savoury sauce, is now available with additional big juicy prawns.

With over 180 flavours that are continually on rotation, the shop is known for creative gelato flavours like Chee Cheong Fan, Nasi Lemak, and White Chocolate Nori. It aims to release at least one new flavour a month.

With 27 classic and adventurous flavours available a day, the only way to stay updated is to check their social media pages for the next surprise flavour, and the weekly roster for the sweet treat.

Six favourites are always available: Dark Chocolate Sorbet, Granny’s Favourite, Rum & Raisin, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Salted Egg Yolk and Yuzu. There are no stabilisers added, and they do not use premixes or artificial flavouring.
