What’s New In November 2023

This November, look forward to Deepavali celebrations at SAFRA, and a festive carnival for the whole family at SAFRA Choa Chu Kang!

By Diana Najm        3 November 2023

We’re fast approaching the end of the year. But before we set our Christmas trees up, there’s still one more month before December. And it’s looking pretty promising, too, with various events such as holiday programmes for kids, Deepavali celebrations, and tons of new eateries to try out in November!

Set aside some time in November to check out this list of things to do.

Things To Do

“Energising Your Holidays” Festive Carnival @ SAFRA Choa Chu Kang

Head down to SAFRA Choa Chu Kang’s 3-day Festive Carnival from 24 to 26 November, in celebration of the club’s Official Opening.

Look forward to activities such as a trackless train ride to explore the club, a gourmet food street where you can purchase sweet treats and enjoy free popcorn and candy floss, and carnival games like Bottle Ring Toss and Balloon Darts. Plus, don’t miss the stage performances, including an amazing Fire Show.

There’s also a Festive Flea Market at the atrium – perfect for those who are Christmas shopping, this is the best time to browse through the booths to support local brands and makers.

And just for our SAFRA members, this carnival has a host of exclusive freebies and discounts in store for you. From free Churros and Snow Cones to discounts at the Festive Flea Market, and not to mention a turn at the Sure-Win Spin The Wheel station, this is our way of appreciating the SAFRA family on this special occasion!

Make sure to pre-register by 23 November to receive a free gift as well as a games score card which you can use to collect points from carnival games to win exciting prizes. Admission is free for all – see you there!

While you’re there, don’t miss the mini-exhibition corner in the lobby, where you can try out a mini-game for a chance to win a small gift. And for SAFRA members only, spend $5 at SAFRA Tampines tenants and redeem a packet of murukku (limited to the first 250 redemptions). Over the weekend of 4 and 5 November from 2pm to 4pm, you can also get a free henna done!

The new family-friendly space now comes with a petting zoo home to 250 animals including deer, horses, dogs, and chickens. Let the kids immerse themselves in nature as they interact with the adorable creatures.

There’s also a new edutainment programme, Ranger Buddies, that aims to empower children to make a positive impact in the world. They’ll learn more about animal health, care, and nutrition by taking on curated quests designed for children.

There’s also a special promotion happening from now till 30 December. Check out KidzWorld AND the Singapore Zoo by purchasing 2-park admission tickets at $38 per child and $54 per adult. You’ll get to see both attractions during your visit at a discounted price.

Dining

Ajooma Korean BBQ

Fans of Korean BBQ, this one’s for you – Ajooma Korean BBQ has just opened at Telok Ayer. Plus, it’s a great lunch spot because you get 1-for-1 lunch sets at $20.

Start your meal with free-flow side dishes including kimchi and potato salad. Try the starters like Pan Seared US Scallops ($38) or the Truffled Steam Egg ($16) before moving on to the protein. We’d recommend the US Prime Beef Short Ribs at $55 for 150g, or the Miyazaki A4 Wagyu 2MM Short Rib at $70 for 150g.

Bonus: You can choose from five types of wood for the barbecue, each resulting in a different aroma to the dishes. Think applewood, cherry, pecan, hickory, or mesquite. Talk about a superior experience.

Compose Coffee

Whether or not you’re a coffee lover, Compose Coffee has just opened in Tower 3 of Suntec City. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the popular Korean chain has over 2,000 outlets across South Korea.

Start by ordering some of their signature beverages, such as the Busan Sea Salted Cream Latte ($6.10) and Grape Smoothie with Cream Cheese Foam ($6.90). Another highlight here is the croissant waffles, which are said to be flaky and buttery. You can’t go wrong with the Plain Croffle ($2.90) or the Brown Cheese Croffle ($4.90), which would complement the coffee perfectly.

Baristart Coffee at Wisma Atria

You can’t have too much coffee, especially if you’re a fan of Hokkaido-based Baristart Coffee. The coffee chain has just opened its newest outlet at Wisma Atria; specifically, at the OCBC Wisma Atria branch.

Don’t leave without taking a bite of the famous Hokkaido Cream Puff ($7), filled with BIEI Jersey Milk custard cream, paired with a Baristarte Latte ($6.70). Looking for something more substantial? There are mains here to satiate your hunger as well. Try the Tonkatsu ($18.80) or Wafu Pasta ($19.80).
