We’ve reached the halfway mark of the year. While mothers were reigning last month, it’s time for dads to shine this Father’s Day, coming up on 16 June. From a new mall opening to June holiday activities for kids, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Here are the best new things to do this month.

Father’s Day Celebrations @SAFRA
If you’re a dad, you deserve to treat yourself this Father’s Day. From now till 30 June, the first 30 members (who are dads) at each SAFRA club will get to redeem an e-voucher via the SAFRA mobile app to enjoy a $20 discount when you visit participating vendors for some pick-me-up time.

SAFRA Football Bonanza 2024
Good news for football fans – SAFRA has free screenings of matches from 15 June to 15 July! And if you need more reason to jio your football kakis, the first 50 SAFRA members to register at each club will also get free snacks and drinks. Each member can bring up to 2 guests for each session.
Those who watch the semi-finals and finals on 10, 11, and 15 July will also get to enjoy free popcorn. Plus, there’s a loyalty card that allows you to collect stamps when you catch the screenings. Attend 5 screenings to redeem a soccer cushion, and attend 10 screenings to redeem a $5 club vendor voucher.
If you want to get in on the action by being active, there are other fringe activities at the clubs such as friendly futsal sessions (Mount Faber, Tampines, Jurong & Choa Chu Kang) and futsal trial sessions (Mount Faber, Tampines, Jurong & Choa Chu Kang).

Children’s Festival at Gardens by the Bay
If you’re a parent with young kids, here’s one for some family bonding time. Get ready for the 10th edition of Gardens by the Bay’s Children’s Festival this June school holidays, featuring Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2. The Supertree Grove has an Inside Out 2-themed carnival with free interactive installations featuring characters from both movies.
Kids will meet familiar Emotions and new ones like Anxiety and Envy, learning about feelings through play. The festival is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s National Family Festival to celebrate, and emphasise, the importance of family time.
Till 22 June 2024, from 10am-9pm at Supertree Grove. Admission into Children’s Festival featuring Inside Out 2 is free. Charges apply for selected activities.
Marine Marvels at Downtown East
You didn’t think ocean conservation could be fun – until Marine Marvels, that is. Till 28 July, take part in not one but four highly engaging zones at Downtown East. This includes the Wave Wonder Zone at Wild Wild Wet, which features a marine-inspired inflatable obstacle course, the Glow Coast Carnival and Neon Playground at the Open-Air Carpark, and Interactive Educational Installations at Event Square.
For non-stop Stranger Things vibes, the Glow Coast Carnival at the Open-Air Carpark comes complete with dazzling photo spots with neon signboards and family rides like the Pirate Ship and Balloon Wheel. You can also stand a chance to win prizes at the old-school carnival game booths, which makes trying your hand at the games a lot more fun.

Jewel Blooms 2024

Choon Hoy Parlour
Fans of Mod-Sin – or Modern Singaporean – food can check out Choon Hoy Parlour. Heritage dishes are given a contemporary twist here, with mouthwatering options like The Jelebu Signature Dry Laksa V2.0 ($18.90) and Signature White Pepper Pig’s Stomach Collagen Soup ($25.90). Similar to home-style dishes typically served at home, there are also sharing portions of vegetables, meat, and fish. Go Rogue
What was formerly 46 Mittsu at Outram Park has rebranded to Go Rogue, a cafe serving sandos, salads, and rice bowls. If you’ve missed previous popular flavours like Hot Chix ($16) and BEC ($14), the latter being a classic bacon, eggs, and cheese sandwich, know that they’ll be available here.
For something a bit less sinful, try the Backyard Greens ($13), which has radicchio, baby spinach, orange, avocado, quail egg and panzanella, drizzled in miso citrus vinaigrette. Rice bowls like the Moofu ($14), which comes with 48-hour Beef Brisket, Avocado, Pickled Daikon, Onsen Egg, Slaw, and Calrose Rice, are also available. Of course, don’t forget to pick up a cup of joe, starting from $4.50 for a Hot Black.
