X-MEN: Dark Phoenix
Out: 6 Jun
Stars: Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jessica Chastain
Spotlight on Sophie Turner She cut her teeth as a thespian on television, and has starred as the striking Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones since she was just 13. Now, Sophie Turner is reprising her role as the troubled telepath Jean Grey, who becomes the titular Dark Phoenix after a near-death experience in space. At 23 and engaged to one of the Jonas Brothers, Turner is arguably the hottest name in entertainment this year, as both her high-profile roles come into focus. With a decade of acting already under her belt, she revealed that she is actually a shy person, which is different from what she has been reprising in most of her roles. For her part on Game of Thrones, she had to reluctantly avoid the sun – even though she is an active outdoor person – to maintain her porcelain like complexion. In her career, she also had to pick up archery. Not for Game of Thrones, but in preparation for playing Grey, which has been voted one of the most popular comic book villains of all time.
