Eternity is a refreshingly imaginative afterlife rom-com from A24 that turns the classic love triangle on its head: Elizabeth Olsen’s Joan dies only to be given one week in limbo to decide whether she wants to spend eternity with her longtime husband Larry (Miles Teller) or her first love Luke (Callum Turner), who’s been waiting decades in the afterlife. Directed by David Freyne, the film cleverly blends themes about memory, loyalty, and what lasting love really means with bright, witty production design and a dash of old-Hollywood charm. A feel-good movie with an existential message that will have you laughing and pondering the meaning of life.
