It feels just like yesterday when everyone was planning for the June holidays. Fast forward to today, and we are already approaching the much-needed one-week break in September.
In true SAFRA fashion, we have prepared a plethora of holiday camps and activities that will turn an otherwise mundane week into a whole fiesta! From charity swimming events and NS-inspired camps to an array of art and baking workshops, this holiday itinerary will surely leave you wondering, “Why is there so much to do, but so little time?”

SAFRA Sprint Kids: Ninja Sports Edition
Your adorable little mischief-makers will surely need an outlet to discharge their boundless energy, lest they wreak havoc at home during the holidays. So, why not expend that infinite spark at SAFRA Sprint Kids, a thrilling obstacle course race intended for our young ninjas?
From 31 August to 1 September 2024, SAFRA will be hosting an obstacle course for kids aged 3 to 12 years old. Parents can also share in the fun with the Parent & Child categories, as they scamper alongside their race buddy to the finish line. Sprint to victory and stand a chance to win up to $350 in cash and a shiny medal to mark this momentous achievement!
No one, however, is leaving empty-handed! Every participant-cum-ninja initiate gets to bring home a Race Pack worth $40, containing an event T-Shirt, a black sling bag and a Finisher Face Gear.

SAFRA Swim For Hope
Nothing screams “school holidays” louder than a celebratory pool party to beat Singapore’s perpetual summer heat. SAFRA takes this up a notch with its annual charity swimming event, this year to raise funds for 5 beneficiaries, including SPD, President’s Challenge and Singapore Aquatics (Development Fund) . SAFRA Swim For Hope is a rare and worthy opportunity for families to come together for a social good.
Under the Families for Life category, you and your child (6 to 12 years old) can choose a swimming distance of either 1 km or 5 km that can be completed at your leisure from 1 September 2024 to 27 October 2024. You can even include the entire family by purchasing additional slots (up to 2 pax). Participants can opt to complete the swim physically at SAFRA clubs on selected dates in September and October, virtually or a mix or both!
Every participant goes home with a participant T-shirt, medal and goodie bag. SAFRA members get an extra treat in the form of a $10 e-voucher.
Swim period: 1 September 2024 to 27 October 2024
Fees: $35 for a 1 km swim, $50 for a 5 km swim (1 parent and 1 child)

Baking Workshops at SAFRA Punggol
The Culinary Experience Studio at SAFRA Punggol is inviting all parents and young bakers to an exclusive holiday workshop on 31 August 2024 to create their very own Beach Party Cake! From baking basics to decorative piping techniques, this class is the ultimate crash course your kids need to kickstart their baking pursuits. And don’t worry; parents can join in the fun too if they want!

BMT Kids Camp
Back by popular demand, SAFRA’s BMT Kids Camp is calling every intrepid young recruit to answer their call to fun and duty! Not only will it emulate the very best attributes of National Service, this 3-day camp also promises an adventure of a lifetime for kids. Really, how often are they afforded the opportunity to sleep over with their friends, sing iconic military songs and learn the basics of outdoor cooking?
This military-inspired escapade will impart crucial survival skills, including how to pitch a tent and navigate a jungle, to build confidence and courage in our young soldiers. Parents will get to witness the culmination of their child’s personal growth in the form of a Passing Out parade, a celebratory get-together to mark their newfound independence.
Participants will get an Army T-shirt, a Utility Bag, a Military Canteen and a Jockey Cap.

BDT Kids Camp
Prerequisite: Participants must have successfully completed BMT Kids Camp.
So, your kids have completed SAFRA’s BMT Kids Camp. They are now ready for the next step in their grand adventure. Introducing SAFRA’s BDT Kids Camp, a 3-day camp centred around the invaluable aquatic skills that have defined our nation’s navy force. Young recruits will not only learn fundamental water survival skills, but also get to try snorkelling. And like all navy veterans, they will learn to manage and operate their very own inflatable boat.
Of course, with the camp intended to be all fun and games, our navy initiates will fill the halls with catchy military songs and cheers unique to their vocation, as they prepare their own BBQ dinner. Parents, make sure to attend your child’s POP at the end of the camp!

Canvas Ark Holiday Classes – Artist Series
Following the success of Canvas Ark’s previous Artist Series (Andy Warhol), Canvas Ark is introducing two new muses for our young artists – Yayoi Kusama, the Queen of Polka Dots and Takashi Murakami, the King of Superflat. Students will delve deeper into Kusama’s renowned paintings through an elaborate study of her unique avant-garde approach to colour and pattern. Fans of anime and manga will thoroughly enjoy Murakami’s unique ‘Superflat’ concept which has led to a revolutionary postmodernist art movement. Students will learn to emulate his flair for vibrant colours and playful imagery while understanding his influences from Japan’s various creative mediums.
Both of these 2-day workshops will definitely be an eye-opener for junior artists who are looking to take a step further with their craft.
