To strengthen camaraderie and build bonds, the SAFRA Cohesion Services Management team plans activities to specifically engage Nsmen.
NSmen can look forward to participating in both indoor and outdoor activities during their cohesion time with SAFRA. Indoor activities, such as pool, billiards and bowling, and the navigation of escape rooms, are tailored for smaller units to help ensure meaningful conversations, strategic planning and bonding.
Outdoor sports activities such as paintball, rock climbing and futsal aim to strengthen teambuilding through improving communication, enhancing SAFRA Cohesion Services Management (CSM) team plan and organise activities to engage NSmen and help build bonds through fun and games The CSM team offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for groups of various sizes, from smaller units to those with more than 1,000 personnel SAFRA organised 500 cohesion events for more than 48,000 NSmen in 2017 interpersonal skills and forging stronger bonds through teamwork and leadership.
With the objective of getting everyone involved, CSM stands firm by its belief that “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success”. Forging stronger bonds between Nsmen can only serve to boost morale and improve combat readiness.
Team Development
Most team activities have been planned to increase the bonding and closeness teammates derive from working together. Apart from fostering teamwork, CSM has worked to include National Education and SGSecure themes into activities such as escape rooms. These events are a great opportunity to hone coordination, especially in the face of obstacles that NSmen can only overcome if they resolve to work in unison. It is the perfect way to build bonds and trust in smaller units while learning about national security.
Paintball
Being able to rough it out and engage in strategic combat simulations with teammates is something NSmen can appreciate from thrilling games of paintball. Teamwork and strategy are crucial in paintball as players have to “eliminate” opponents with non-toxic paint pellets. Nsmen have to work together in teams to capture the opposing team’s flag while ensuring the safety of their teammates. What could be a more adrenaline-pumping way of learning to work together well and rediscovering the camaraderie of past training days?
Virtual / Augmented Reality Gaming
NSmen these days look forward to team bonding through not just traditional activities but also new and interesting technology-infused activities. Reality gaming is one powerful tool for team building. NSmen can collaborate with one another to achieve assigned tasks and goals or take on one-on-one challenges in a player-versus-player environment. It is not often that a team can forge bonds and work together while exploring a completely fresh virtual environment; there they can create fond memories as they work united towards their goals.
