Old Chang Kee is a household name for Singaporeans when it comes to curry puffs, but did you know that they have a restaurant too? Curry Times has 6 outlets country-wide, specialising in – you guessed it – all kinds of curry.

Their curry is a must-try concoction made from a secret blend of spices and herbs; so secret that its recipe is locked in a bank safe. Their Curry Chicken meal comes at the affordable price of $8.50, accompanied by a choice of rice, prata or bread. Doesn’t that make your mouth water?

A hidden gem in Golden Mile Food Centre, Charlie’s Peranakan Food offers quite a list of Straits Chinese dishes for a hawker stall. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Charlie’s was a popular Peranakan restaurant in its original iteration. From their Nonya Chicken Curry to Nangka Lemak (jackfruit curry), and the hard-to-find Lo Kai Yik (chicken wings and offal stewed in fermented bean paste), Charlie’s Peranakan Food has yet to lose sight of its authenticity after all these years.
