SAFRA’s SoundByte 2025: Beer Music Play is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated year-end highlights for NSmen — an immersive evening that blends great beer, energetic live entertainment, social connectivity, and a healthy dose of nostalgia. The full-on, high-octane, craft-beer-fuelled celebration is also for anyone who wants to send off the year with a bang. Taking over SAFRA Mount Faber on 5 December, this party is shaping up to be one of the hottest tickets of the season.

Here are the 10 things that will make SoundByte 2025 a night worth clearing your calendar for.

Soundbyte 1

1. A $40 Free-Flow Craft Beer Deal That Feels Almost Unreal

Let’s address the headliner first: SAFRA members will enjoy free-flow craft beer for just $40. In a time when even a single pint at a bar can cost upwards of $14, this is nothing short of exceptional value.

From 6 pm until 12.30 am, you’ll have exclusive access to unlimited pours of curated Brewerkz craft beers, transforming your evening into a rare opportunity to savour quality brews without watching your wallet. For NSmen looking for a memorable and cost-effective night with your besties, this alone is reason enough to mark your attendance.

2. Six Distinctive Brewerkz Craft Beers Worth Exploring in Depth

The beer selection at SoundByte 2025 is anything but basic. Brewerkz is offering a diverse lineup of six craft beers, each with its own character and flavour profile, giving attendees a genuine tasting experience.

  • Hormat Lager offers a bright, citrus-forward freshness that’s ideal as a first sip or a palate cleanser between heavier brews.
  • Ondeh Ondeh Lager, infused with hints of pandan and coconut, delivers a surprising and nostalgic local twist that mirrors the beloved dessert.
  • Still Mitch NEIPA bursts with juicy tropical fruit undertones, making it a crowd favourite for those who appreciate hazy, flavourful beers.
  • Chain Reaction Modern IPA brings boldness and intensity, featuring a profile of ripe fruit layered over a satisfying bitterness.
  • What the Helles provides a classic, crisp, Bavarian-style finish that is smooth, balanced, and incredibly drinkable.
  • Merlion Oatmeal Stout rounds out the selection with its rich, velvety notes of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt that is perfect for ending the night on a warm and comforting note.

With such variety, you can expect your evening to feel like your own personalised beer festival… minus the hefty festival ticket price!

3. A Double-Bill of Live Bands Who Know How To Wow A Crowd

Two words: high energy. Expect feel-good covers, rhythmic surprises, and the kind of stage presence that gets even the shyest guest bobbing along.

AnchorBlanc will bring an uplifting, acoustic-driven sound backed by strong vocals and feel-good rhythms, while T4 injects the night with performance flair, beatboxing, harmonies and infectious energy. Together, they’ll get the party started with dynamic musical moments that pull the crowd in and keep your spirits high.

Soundbyte 5

4. DJs Who Will Elevate the Party from Sundown to Last Call

Once the live band sets conclude, the atmosphere will shift seamlessly into a high-energy club-like environment thanks to performances by DJ Reiko and DJ Kiara.

Their mixes, spanning EDM, pop and dance anthems, promise to keep the energy levels rising throughout the night. Expect long, seamless transitions, bass drops that electrify and an infectious musical flow that will keep you on your feet well past midnight. Consider this your cardio for the week.

5. An Arcade Corner Designed for Pure Unadulterated Fun

Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or someone who hasn’t touched an arcade machine since secondary school, the retro game zone at SoundByte will spark a sense of nostalgia. Classic arcade cabinets, air hockey tables, and digital pinball machines offer plenty of opportunities for friendly rivalry, light-hearted competition, and the kind of laughter-filled moments that make a night truly memorable. Be prepared for a throwback to simpler times, delivered with a modern twist.

6. Free-Flow Snacks That Keep the Vibes (and the Appetite) Going

A night of beer and music is always better with something to munch on, and SoundByte’s free-flow snack selection ensures you won’t go hungry while you socialise. From crunchy nachos to classic crackers to old-school kachang puteh, you’ll have access to a steady stream of light bites that pair perfectly with the evening’s beverages.

7. A Photobooth to Capture the Memories You’ll Be Talking About Later

No modern event is complete without a dedicated photo corner, and SoundByte’s photobooth setup is designed to help you preserve your favourite moments from the evening. Whether you’re striking a pose with your closest army buddies, sneaking in a goofy shot with colleagues, or simply documenting your night out, the photobooth ensures you walk away with a fun keepsake that lasts long after the taps stop flowing.

8. $5 Premium Spirits for Those Who Prefer Their Drinks a Little Stronger

While craft beer takes centre stage, attendees who prefer spirits won’t feel left out. Throughout the event, premium labels such as Roku Gin, Jim Beam, Bacardi, and tequila will be available for just $5 per glass, mixers included. This adds tremendous value for the drink connoisseurs who want alternatives or enjoy switching between drink types during the evening.

9. A Variety of Paid Food Options for Those Who Need a Hearty Bite

If you’re planning to stay for the full duration (and with so much happening, why wouldn’t you?), you’ll be glad to know that there are paid food stalls offering more substantial meals. While the free-flow snacks will keep your cravings at bay, this curated selection of paid food options are great for those who prefer something more hearty as the night stretches on.

Whether you need a proper dinner before diving into the beer lineup or a satisfying pick-me-up midway through the festivities, the on-site food stalls will be serving a variety of flavourful dishes designed to complement the event’s energetic atmosphere. These offerings ensure that you can refuel comfortably without having to step away from the action, allowing you to stay immersed in the music, games, and good company for the entire evening.

Soundbyte 2

10. A Venue That Creates the Perfect After-Dark Festival Atmosphere

SAFRA Mount Faber provides an ideal backdrop for SoundByte 2025. With its open, breezy layout, natural ambience, and thoughtfully arranged activity zones, the venue transforms into a lively after-dark festival ground once the lights come on and the music starts pumping.

The balance of indoor comfort and outdoor vibrancy creates an environment that feels both intimate and energising — the perfect canvas for an evening that blends social interaction, entertainment, and relaxation. As the night progresses, the venue’s warm lighting and dynamic soundscape add to the immersive experience, making it easy to lose yourself in the moment.

BONUS REASON! Limited Slots That Make the Night Feel Exclusive — So Don’t Wait Too Long

One of the reasons SoundByte 2025 promises to be so enjoyable is the fact that it is a limited-capacity event, which means the atmosphere remains comfortable, friendly, and tailored rather than overcrowded or chaotic. This smaller scale ensures you can actually enjoy moving from beer taps to music zones to arcade stations without long queues or packed spaces.

However, the flip side is that tickets tend to get snapped up quickly — especially with such strong headliners, unbeatable drink deals, and an increasingly loyal SoundByte crowd. If you’re serious about attending, securing your slot early is the smartest move you can make.

Soundbyte 4

A Final Word: SoundByte 2025 Is Designed to Be the Ultimate NSman Night Out

If you’ve been craving a year-end celebration that combines exceptional value with a rich, multifaceted experience, SoundByte 2025 is exactly the event you should be marking on your calendar. With its irresistible $40 free-flow craft beer deal, a curated lineup of six distinctive brews, high-energy live bands, electrifying DJ sets, nostalgic arcade games, free-flow snacks, and an unbeatable social atmosphere, the event offers something for every type of partygoer — from the craft beer aficionado to the music lover to the casual night-out seeker.

Beyond its entertainment value, SoundByte 2025 embodies what SAFRA events do best: creating opportunities for NSmen and SAFRA members to reconnect, unwind, and celebrate shared experiences in a welcoming and vibrant community space. Whether you’re gathering your army buddies, meeting up with old friends, or bringing someone new along for the ride, the night promises to deliver moments worth remembering — and maybe even a few inside jokes that last for years.

The only thing left to ask is: Are you in? So get your group chat buzzing, lock in your spot, and start planning your ride to SAFRA Mount Faber.

Tickets are limited and selling fast so grab yours now! SAFRA members can enjoy special rate of $40 (UP for guests: $60) if you register before 2 December.

Rallying for Fun and Nation: The First-Ever Defence Collective Festival! https://nsman.safra.sg/defence-collective-festival/ Wed, 05 Nov 2025 02:09:05 +0000 https://nsman.safra.sg/?p=36230 Come immerse yourself in this experiential event happening across three museums

The post Rallying for Fun and Nation: The First-Ever Defence Collective Festival! appeared first on eNSMAN.

Think you know all about Singapore’s defence story? Think again.

This November, the Defence Collective Festival is flipping the script and turning the serious business of national defence into one giant, hands-on playground of fun, discovery and nostalgia.

Happening across three museums — Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC), Singapore Navy Museum (SNM), and Singapore Air Force Museum (SAFM) — this inaugural festival isn’t your typical “walk quietly and read plaques” kind of museum experience. Nope. Expect submarine challenges, AR colouring, carnival games, immersive missions, and enough photo ops to fill your weekend feed.

So round up your buddies and besties, rally the fam, and get ready to defend your weekend… the fun way!

What Is The Defence Collective Festival All About?

The Defence Collective Festival (DCF) is a festival by Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), the group behind the trio of defence-themed museums that bring Singapore’s story of resilience to life.

Timed perfectly with Singapore’s 60th birthday (SG60) and the SAF’s 60th anniversary, this festival is all about celebrating the spirit that keeps Singapore safe and strong, but in the most interactive, family-friendly way possible.

From 15 to 16 November (with a special encore weekend on 22 & 23 November at SDC only), you can hop between three venues packed with games, workshops and activities that blend learning, nostalgia and just plain fun.

And yes, there’s even a free festival shuttle loop between SDC, SNM and SAFM, so you can museum-hop without breaking a sweat.

  • Craft Workshops: Feeling artsy? Channel your inner designer and create your very own defence badge inspired by the six pillars of Total Defence. Or, if you’re more hands-on, assemble your own mini aircraft model, and take it home as a proud pilot’s souvenir.
  • Flight Simulator: Ever dreamed of flying an F-16? Here’s your chance to take to the virtual skies in a realistic flight simulator from Vector Simulations. Strap in, throttle up, and experience the rush of an aerial mission — minus the G-forces!
  • Combat Fighter The Reaction Game: Ready, set, react! This high-speed reaction challenge will test your reflexes as you battle to eliminate incoming threats. Think you’ve got fighter pilot reflexes? Here’s your chance to prove it.

So, eyes on the sky and feet off the ground — the Singapore Air Force Museum is where adventure truly takes off!

At the Singapore Discovery Centre: Your Playground of Possibilities

15 & 16 November / 22 & 23 November 2025

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

  • Recruit SingaPaw’s Escape Maze: Navigate through obstacles and surprises that test your courage and smarts.
  • Explorer SingaPaw’s Cultural Quest: A scavenger hunt that sends you dashing around in search for clues to complete missions.
  • AR Colouring Workshop: Colour defence vehicles on paper, then watch them come alive in 3D with augmented reality.
  • Build the Nation: Stack giant foam blocks to build Singapore landmarks and see how teamwork really makes the dream work.
  • Carnival Booths: Play, win, and snack. Classic fun for all ages.
Defence Collective Festival 2

  • Mini Troopers: Fall In!: Perfect for the little ones to play dress-up as they get to don mini SAF uniforms for a photo op.
  • Warrior Challenge & Let’s Get Outfield!: Camo face paint, tent pitching, and hands-on “outfield” fun for everyone who’s up for a challenge.

Between the carnival buzz, outdoor action, and hands-on creativity, it’s safe to say SDC will be buzzing with energy all weekend.

More Than Just a Good Time

Sure, there are games, prizes, and cool activities… but there’s heart behind the hype.

The Defence Collective Festival is about celebrating what keeps Singapore secure and reminding us that defence isn’t just about weapons or uniforms. It’s about people, resilience and teamwork.

Every activity here — whether it’s building a warship, navigating a maze, or decoding messages — quietly reinforces that spirit of Total Defence. It’s learning disguised as play… and the message hits home.

For kids, it’s a chance to see what being part of something bigger feels like. For parents (and nostalgic NSmen), it’s a chance to relive a bit of that camaraderie… without the 5am wake-up calls!

Insider Tips to Make the Most of It

Want to squeeze every bit of fun out of the festival? Here’s your game plan:

  1. Go for the All-Access Pass: You’ll thank yourself later. Each museum offers something different, and the shuttle bus makes it easy to hop around.
  2. Bring your sense of adventure: Many activities are interactive, so come ready to move, build, and play.
  3. Beat the crowds:  Arrive early, especially for popular zones like the maze and submarine challenge.
  4. Stay hydrated and comfy: Singapore weather + excitement = sweat. Dress light and wear good sturdy shoes.
  5. Team up: Most activities are more fun (and easier) with friends or family. Plus, you’ll have someone to high-five when you conquer a challenge.
  6. Don’t just take photos, ask questions: The exhibits are full of cool backstories that bring our defence history to life. Chat with guides and staff; they’ve got stories to tell!
  7. Redeem your blind box reward: Collect those passport stamps and score a mystery gift. Because who doesn’t love a (cute) surprise?

Why It Matters… in a Fun Way

At its core, this festival isn’t just about nostalgia or hardware. It’s about community.

Singapore’s defence story has always been about collective strength — the idea that everyone, from the soldier to the student, has a part to play. By making that story interactive, the Defence Collective Festival turns patriotism into participation.

It’s one thing to read about resilience. It’s another to live it, through play, teamwork, and curiosity.

So, whether you’re a lifelong museum fan, a parent looking for a family day out, or an NSman with a soft spot for the good old days, this festival offers something for you — a reminder that our nation’s strength lies in our people and our stories.

Final Word: Defend Your Weekend

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars:

📍 Singapore Discovery Centre, Singapore Navy Museum, and Singapore Air Force Museum

📅 All three museums: 15–16 November 2025, with a second weekend 22–23 November at Singapore Discovery Centre only.

Grab your crew, snag your passes, and come explore, play and celebrate what makes Singapore strong. Whether you’re sailing subs, solving puzzles, or conquering mazes, you’ll walk away with more than just memories — you’ll walk away with pride.

Because sometimes, defending our nation starts with having a blast while learning why it matters.

SAFRA members can enjoy the special early bird prices $10 for single-access pass and $28 for all-access pass throughout. Enter promo code SINSAFRADCF for single-access pass and ALLSAFRADCF for all-access pass at checkout when purchasing your access pass.

Halloween is creeping closer, and SAFRA’s going all out this year with not one, but three frightfully fun events happening across the island. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker chasing jump scares, a family looking for some not-so-scary fun, or a curious soul drawn to mysterious mummies, there’s something hauntingly perfect waiting for you. From haunted kampungs to cursed tombs, here’s your ultimate guide to where the chills and thrills are happening this spooky season.

After Dark @ SAFRA Yishun: Where The Kampung Haunts You (31 October & 1 November)

After Dark @ SAFRA Yishun 836 x 430

At SAFRA Yishun, Halloween takes a nostalgic turn with a chilling twist. After Dark transforms the club into a haunted kampung, where the ghostly legends of Yishun come to life. Brave visitors will wander through shadowy corners as they uncover the eerie tales of two best friends Lela and Mei Ling, who are spirits forever bound to their old village home. But this isn’t your average haunted house. Here, you’ll get to relive classic kampung games like Hopscotch, Goli Goli and Congkak – except this time, your opponents might not exactly be… human.

There’s also a slew of spooky side activities to keep your spirits high (and your goosebumps up). Think eerie face painting, a green-screen photo booth for your ghostly close-up, and even a creepy stained-glass craft to take home. Hungry? Expect hauntingly themed finger foods and eerie treats perfect for late-night munching. Every visitor gets an After Dark goodie bag too, a little token to remember your time in the dark.

Tickets are limited to 400 per night, so don’t wait too long to sign up… unless, of course, you like the idea of being stuck outside with the ghosts. SAFRA members can snag pre-event tickets at $10, while guests pay $15; walk-ins cost slightly more ($15 for SAFRA member and $20 for guests). It’s local folklore meets supernatural fun, and the perfect mix of nostalgia and nightmare that you won’t find anywhere else!

Spooks & Screams @ SAFRA Jurong: Where Fun Meets Fright (24 to 26 October)

SAFRA Jurong Halloween

If your idea of Halloween is more about laughter than lingering spirits, Spooks & Screams at SAFRA Jurong is where you’ll want to be. This is the ultimate family-friendly Halloween carnival: three days of interactive fun, treats, and mild thrills that even the littlest monsters will enjoy.

Expect a packed line-up of activities that’ll keep both kids and adults entertained all day long. The Boo-Ti-Ful Outfit Contest promises plenty of fun as contestants battle it out in their most creative costumes (the children’s category is fully registered but adult category is still opened for registration). Over at the Haunted Park: Terror & Screams, you’ll brave a spooky walkthrough packed with eerie effects and ghoulish surprises – just enough to send a shiver down your spine without triggering nightmares.

And of course, no Halloween celebration is complete without treats! The Trick-or-Treat Time session will have little ones dashing from booth to booth collecting candies, while the Monster Munchies Booth serves up brain-juice popcorn and black magic candy floss for those brave enough to snack. The fun continues with Halloween-themed glow-in-the-dark tattoos, balloon sculptures, and stage shows featuring magicians and puppeteers, all on 25 October, with the bouncy castle at the Spooks & Bounce Zone operating from 24 to 26 October.

Here’s the good news: entry is FREE for all SAFRA members, with pre-registration needed for some activities. With so many free and fun activities, it’s no wonder Spooks & Screams is one of SAFRA’s most popular Halloween events. It’s packed full of festive entertainment and spooky atmosphere – ideal for families looking to celebrate without the fright factor.

Awakening of the Mummies @ SAFRA Punggol: Where The Tombs Come Alive (24 & 25 October)

SAFRA-Punggol-Halloween-2025_eNSmen-836-x-430px

Over at SAFRA Punggol, the Halloween buzz has been off the charts. Awakening of the Mummies, the club’s main Halloween adventure, has already been fully booked! Those lucky enough to have secured their spots are in for a thrilling time-travel adventure into the heart of an ancient pyramid.

But even if the main event is full, don’t despair – there’s still plenty happening at SAFRA Punggol for Halloween weekend. Members can still sign up for the Bake-a-Mummy Workshop on 25 October, where you’ll get to craft adorable (and edible) mummy-themed treats that look spooky but taste yummy. For some delicious treats to tingle all your senses, step into the Haunted Makan Trail at Keng Eng Kee (KEK) happening on 24 October as they serve up a terrifyingly tasty Halloween experience blending folklore, fear and frighteningly delicious bites. Then on 25 October, as night falls, join the Mummy’s Night Bash, a Halloween party filled with music and eerie entertainment perfect for families looking to soak up the spooky vibes without the screams. It’s all happening at the Starlit Pavilion, where the ancient meets the festive under the glowing lights.

SAFRA Punggol continues to prove that Halloween doesn’t have to be about horror… it can be about bonding, creativity, and a dash of adventure. So come and experience the fun with the whole fam on 24 and 25 October!

Which Halloween Vibe Are You Feeling This Year?

From kampung ghosts to carnival clowns to cursed tombs, SAFRA’s got your Halloween weekend sorted. Whether you prefer your scares with a side of nostalgia, your fun wrapped in cobwebs, or your adventure sealed in an ancient sarcophagus, there’s something hauntingly perfect waiting for you.

So gather your bravest friends, dig out those costumes, and get ready to scream (or laugh) your way through October. SAFRA’s Halloween 2025 lineup is proof that Singapore’s got plenty of spirit, both living and otherwise!
